I like to shop in my local town whenever possible. With new mega stores springing up in all over the place, it’s sometimes easy to overlook our local Mom & Pop stores that have been the backbone of this country since inception. Whenever I go to our local hardware store, not only does Bobby the owner know my name but he also dispenses home repair advice as well as words of wisdom. Bobby once told me that ‘We are all in this together and if we don’t support each other, who will.” That day Bobby was talking about supporting local business but he could just as well have been talking on a more global level.
As our country tries to recover from one the the worst recessions in recent memory, we need to do our part to help stimulate the economy and our pride of being Americans. Ours is not a perfect system but it’s the best that’s out there. Where else but in the America, could someone like me reinvent himself as a successful real estate investor after being laid off from a corporate job of over 20 years. There is no better time to follow your dreams and passions. Fortune favors the bold.
So lets shop our local farmers market, reach out to a stranded motorist and let’s support our families, our friends and neighbors, our local businesses, and our country.
