Dream House?
The first time that I saw the property, I drove right by without stopping. Heck I didn’t even slow down. What I saw was a parcel of almost 10 vacant acres, most of which was going straight down a steep ravine, unbuildable for sure. Yes there were mountain views but that wasn’t enough to sell me. I was lacking vision.
About a year later, I got a call from the property owner again. She really needed to sell the property and any offer would be considered. We finally settled on a price that I was very comfortable with and I purchased the property.
Within about a month a local couple saw my For Sale sign and offered to buy it. They had dreams of building a house overlooking the mountains. I have heard similar dreams many times before from stary eyed land buyers. Unfullfilled dreams. Houses that never got built. Getaways that got away.
Many months went by since I sold that parcel. I forgot about that property for a while until last week when I was driving from one county to another and found myself in familiar territory. There is was my old property. And someone’s new dream. I had to pull over and see if their dreams were fullfilled. I parked my car and began walking in.
There parched high on the hill, overlooking the mountains was someone’s dream. They had a vision. The vision I had lacked. And they followed through. They refused to take the path of least resistance and they are making it happen brick by brick. It’s nice to know that dreams can come true.
