“Failure is not failure, but an opportunity to begin again more intelligently.”
– Wally Amos, a.k.a Famous Amos
Wally Amos started Famous Amos Cookies in California back in the 1970s. After a string of financial reversals in the 1980s, Amos lost control of both the company and the use of the Famous Amos name and image . In 1992, he helped found Shirley-based muffin maker Uncle Wally’s. Now at the age of 77, he;s back in the kitchen launching a new brand of snacks called The Cookie Kahuna.
Paraphrasing Henry Ford, he recently told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, “Failure is not failure but an opportunity to begin again more intelligently,”. “I love that quote. On my worst day I never thought I should quit. You are guaranteed to fail if you quit. But if you find the tenacity to keep going, eventually you will succeed.”
